まほうつかいのつきうさぎ　　３つの魔法

きれいなまんげつのおつきさまには、まほうつかいのうさぎのいっかがすんでいました。
つきうさはまだまほうを　じょうずにつかえません。
にんじんをみて、はなをぴくぴくうごかしてじぶんのために、にんじんじゅーすをつくるだけでした。
つきうさのおばあちゃん、ぐらんどうさぎはまじょでもべてらんのまじょです。
あるひ、つきうさにいいました。
｢あなたはね。まだほんとうのまほうのつかいかたをしらないわ。ちきゅうへいってほんとうのまほうがつかえるまでかえってきてはいけません。｣

といわれてきがつくと、ちきゅうのやまのなかにいました。
｢ああ、こまったわ。こんな知らないところで、どうしたらいいのかしら｣
そこへ、きのかげでみていたたぬきのぽんたがこえをかけました。
｢こまったかおしてるね、おいら、ぽんたっていうんだ｣
｢あら、びっくりした。でもあえてよかったわ。わたしはほんとうのまほうをべんきょうするためにきたの、たすけてくれる？｣
｢ああいいよ、ほんとうのまほうね～。　う～ん、むずかしいな、そうだ！、がっこうのもんたせんせいはいつもぽえむとかいってわからないこといってるけど、そういえばまほうとごみのこといってたな｣
｢ええ？　ほんとう！　うれいしいわ！｣
｢でもなんだったか、はんぶんねていたからおもいだせないな。
でも、まほうとごみだからね。
ごみなんてまちにいけばいっぱいあるからわかるかもね｣

ふたりはつぎのひ、あさはやくからまちへいきました。
まちにはたくさんのごみがおちています。
｢まあ、きたないわね。おつきさまでは、ぜんぜんごみなんかないわよ｣
｢それじゃ、ふたりでこのごみをひろっていこうよ｣
ふたりは、ごみをひろいあつめ、まちはきれいになりました。

まちのみんなはおおよろこびです。
｢私も、ごみをいっしょにひろうよ。だってきれいにな
ったら、すごくきもちいいんだもん｣
｢ママ！　あっ！　ほらはながさいてる。こっちにもさいてるよ。　きれいなまちになって　がっこうにいくのもたのしいよ｣

つきうさとぽんたは、まちのようすをみてごみをひろってよかったとおもいました。


するとぐらんどうさぎがほうきにのってあらわれました。
｢おまえたち　どうやらほんとうのまほうをてにいれたようだね。
つきへかえってきなさい。｣
ぽんたとつきうさはじぶんでしておきながらわけがわかりません。

｢ぐらんどうさぎさん　なぜほんとうのまほうだったの？｣
｢いいかい、ひとつめのまほうは、ここがきれいになってきもちよくなったなったでしょう。」

「ふたつめのまほうはね、ここをつかうみんなのきもちちがやさしくなって、こころがきれいになりますよ。」

「そして、３つめはね、なによりもあなたたちのこころがやさしくなって、きれいになって、そしてそして、みんなにすかれるようになるのよ。」
｢うちのもんたせんせいもそんなこといってたな｣

つぎのひ、ぽんたはちいさなふねでつきうささんをのせ、はるかすいへいせんのおつきさまをめざしてすすみました。

いまでもふたりはおつきさまでまいにちごみをひろっているからあんなにきれいんだよ。
ここもきれいなちきゅうにしようね。
つきうさはおつきさまにかえって、ほんとうのまほうつかいになり、ごみをほしにかえました。
ほら、よぞらをみあげてごらん。
たくさんのほしくずがみえるでしょう。
すたーだすとというんです。

Stardust Magic

1            Once upon a time, a pretty little rabbit lived with her grandmother on the Moon. Grandma Rabbit was a clever witch, but Bunny could only do one trick. She twitched her nose, and that turned her carrots into juice.

2            Grandma Rabbit wanted Bunny to learn to use true magic. "I'll send you to planet Earth to learn", she said. "Don't come back until you can use true magic."

3            All of a sudden, Bunny was in a forest on planet Earth. She did not know what to do. A raccoon boy came up to her and said, "Hello, I'm Ponta. You've got problems?"

4            Bunny cried. "My Granny sent me here from the Moon, to learn about true magic, and I don't know how. Can you help me?"

5            "Oh, that's not easy", said Ponta. "My school teacher knew a poem about magic. How was it? Something about magic being rubbish - or was it the other way around?"

6            "Anyway, there is a lot of rubbish in town. Let's go there and check it out!"

7            Bunny and Ponta found a lot of rubbish everywhere in town, because nobody bothered to use the dustbins.

8            Bunny sighed, "Oh, the dirt and stink! The Moon is much nicer. We tidy up every day, so the Moon can shine brightly at night. Let's clean up this mess."

9            Bunny and Ponta picked up rubbish from the streets, gardens and beaches. People liked what they saw, and helped out. Everyone was delighted with the result.

10          "Now we can see flowers and green grass again, and the bad stench is gone. We have also made new friends during the work. Let's all do our best to keep things like this", they said. Bunny and Ponta felt very happy.

11          Suddenly Grandma Rabbit appeared on her broom. "You two have become good magicians", she said. "Welcome back to the Moon, both of you." Ponta was surprised. "What magic did we do?" he asked.

12          "Three truly magical things happened here." She ticked off on her fingers. "Number 1. You cleaned up here. That made you feel happy."

13          "Number 2. Those who live here, feel good about what was done, and have had a change of heart, thanks to you. Number 3. Kindness to others is good for you too."

14          Bunny and Ponta sailed off together in a small sailboat, heading for the Moon on the horizon. The night was filled with magic, and they were carried safely back home to the Moon.

15          They still have a charmed life on the Moon. They sweep it every day, to keep it shining bright.

16          Once in a thousand years, Bunny turns the dust into tiny stars, which she flings into the sky. That is the

stardust twinkling above.
